Hayling Ferry Sailing Club is a small, friendly club, superbly located at the western tip of Hayling Island. From our well equipped club house, our fleet of catamarans and monohulls enjoys some of the best sailing in the Solent and the south coast of England.
New members are always welcome whether you own a boat or not.
We have had some epic days out on the water this year - last Sunday was almost perfect, with a steady Sea Breeze over a flat sea and wall to wall sunshine - fantastic! It makes me wonder why there are so many cobwebs growing between some of the boats in the compound...
This coming Sunday it's time for our next event, we have 3-4 SW and Sunshine forecast at the moment so unless you are out of the country or otherwise indisposed, come down to the club and sail with us, or head out on your own, making the most of our fantastic location.
We are forecast reasonable South Westerlies on Sunday and the weather isn't looking too bad. We'll run a Sea Fronts Race on Sunday!
This usually involves a blast in front of Hayling and Southsea beaches. We'll determine the marks on the day according to the wind direction.
Please let me know if you are planning to come - or if you are looking for a Helm / Crew and we'll see if we can pair you up - there are some Crews already available!
Everyone welcome as usual!
The sun shone (some of the time), the wind blew, the band played, and a great weekend was had by all!
Thanks to all club members and others who put in so much hard work to make both the race and the Band on the Beach a resounding success.
For the race report and results have a look at http://www.hfsc.org.uk/solent-forts-race/2016-race, and for lots of photos and a couple of impressive videos, check out the Solent Forts Race facebook page.

The forecast is looking very good for this Sunday, with a warm, dry, easterly breeze promising great sailing and a fine afternoon for the new members BBQ. See you there! Race details to follow.
This is to give new members and their families an opportunity to meet others in the Club and “old” members a chance to share their experience.
We will be lighting the barbecue during the afternoon so bring whatever you would like to cook and eat and a drink or two. Soft drinks can be purchased from the tuck shop.
We look forward to seeing there.
Any questions please contact Mark Taylor - 07896 973942 or social@hfsc.org.uk.
It's time for the spring season racing and in a change to the traditional routine, we will be changing the format a little.
First off, there will be 3 shorter races rather than 2 longer ones. The first 2 will be back to back. Everyone is welcome, whether experienced or not - the emphasis is on inclusion rather than serious racing, so if you've never done it before, why don't you give it a go in a safe and welcoming environment.
Your new sailing secretary, Matt, has been busy planning the new sailing season. Check out the full calendar of events.
With the aim of getting more people out on the water and having more fun, Matt is introducing the following:
The 11th June see the return of our epic "Band on the Beach" event. Good food, fine ales and great music make for a truly memorable summer night.
Our band this year is the excellent Groove Apprentice, chosen after extensive research in various pubs, clubs and bars.
