About Hayling Ferry Sailing Club

HFSC from the air

Formally part of the Farnborough based Schlumberger Solartron Group of companies, the club became independent in December 1988 and was renamed Hayling Ferry Sailing Club.

We have a mixed handicap fleet of catamarans & monohulls.

The racing programme starts in April and continues to the end of October. There are two races on selected Sundays. Trophy events and special events are planned throughout the season.

From our superb location at the entrance to Langstone Harbour we are able to launch at all states of tide. The surrounding area of Gunner Point with it's sand dunes and vegetated shingle is a splendid place for family days out, and for the naturalists there are rare birds and plants to be found.

Our facilities are modest, comprising a clubhouse, changing rooms and toilets. Major maintenance being carried out by all-hands at Work Parties held at the beginning and end of the sailing season. Ample car parking is in the area around the club. The Dinghy Park is completely enclosed for secure boat parking and can be used for camping providing that access for other members and their boats is kept clear.

All members undertake Safety Boat or Officer of the Day duties at some time during the season. The Safety Boat is a 5 metre RIB which accompanies all races and organised cruises/events.

Social events are varied and include barbecues, curry evenings, family days, and the Laying-up Supper and AGM at the end of the season.

Newsletters are published throughout the year, via post or e-mail, to keep everyone informed of forthcoming events.
