Hayling Ferry SC are hosting a weekend of sailing and merriment for members, their families, and friends on the 5th and 6th of July.
The Clive Wright Memorial Cruise
On Saturday 5th July there will be a cruise to Gilkicker Point in memory of Clive Wright.
Clive was a long-time and active member of the club and a truly committed catamaran sailor. Besides racing his FX One and taking all-comers out on his Hobie Pacific, Clive more recently joined the Unicorn fleet. Clive died suddenly and unexpectedly last summer and is truly missed.
As a mark of respect, the club is planning a cruise from HFSC to Gilkicker Point (a mile or 2 beyond Portsmouth Harbour entrance), which was a favourite spot of Clive's. Weather permitting we may have time for a game or cricket on the beach and perhaps a return via the Isle of Wight. We hope to get as many boats, members and friends of Clive out on the water. If you need crew or would like to crew for somebody then get in touch and we'll match people up. The cruise will leave the club at 11am supported by 2 RIBs. Bring a packed lunch etc. Food can be carried in the support boats (will need containers). Tides are favourable with neap low water at 13:25.
Summer Party
On Saturday evening, the club summer party starts at 6pm with BBQ from 7pm. There will be a bar and live music courtesy of Unicorn sailor Dan Jarman. All are welcome to camp at the club. Breakfast will be available on Sunday morning.

Family Race Day
On Sunday morning there will be a fun relay or pursuit race, designed to be visible from the shore for exciting spectating! After lunch there will be a summer series race starting at about 2pm.
